SERVICE CENTER FOR WESTERN LIGURIA 

CENTRO DI SERVIZI PER IL PONENTE LIGURE

With decree n. 5865 dated 28/11/2018, the Centro di servizi per il Ponente Ligure, with administrative headquarters in Via Magliotto 2, Savona I-17100, has been set up with effect from 1.1.2018

The structure is aimed at the management of complex services and equipment and the promotion of activities of general interest of the University at three operational campus:
University campus of Imperia
University Campus of Savona
Hanbury Botanical Gardens (GBH)

The purpose of the center are:
1) promotion and support for teaching activities of the University and the regional training system
in the Campus of Savona and Imperia and in the Hanbury Botanic Gardens;
2) support for research activities carried out at national and international level in the Savona Campus
and of Imperia and - in compliance with the lines identified by the regional law and by the convention
stipulated with the Liguria region for the management of the "Giardini Botanici Hanbury" protected area -
at the GBH;
3) the protection, promotion, management and enhancement of the environmental heritage -
in particular that of botanical - landscape and scientific interest, according to the convention
stipulated on 1.8.2001 between the Liguria region and the University of Genoa for the
management of the "Hanbury Botanic Gardens" Regional Protection Area.

 They are organs of the center:
1) the president, Prof. Federico DELFINO
2) the board of directors, composed of the Director of the Campus of Savona Prof. Federico DELFINO, the Director of the Campus of Imperia Prof. Lara TRUCCO and the Director of the Hanbury Botanical Gardens Prof. Mauro MARIOTTI

HANBURY BOTANICAL GARDENS

Purpose:

The Hanbury Botanic Gardens perform the following activities in particular:

  1.  Protection of botanical collections
  2. Protection of the historical-artistic, architectural, archaeological and landscape complex, as far as it is concerned, with the offices of the technical areas
  3. Enhancement of cultural heritage
  4. Support for scientific research activity
  5. Support for education and training activities
  6. Conservation of nature
  7. Dissemination in the territory of knowledge useful for its sustainable development
  8.  Management of services for the promotion and cultural fruition of the Hanbury Botanic Gardens
