"The Hanbury's in the garden"

Reenactment of the everyday life in the Gardens in the '800

Sunday 7th may 2017 - from 10:00 to 16:00


Throughout the day you will see the reconstruction of several cadres of daily life in the garden with Thomas Hanbury: the life in the villa, the parties, the gardeners at work, the tennis court, the visit of Queen Victoria.

You will wander through the garden paths in a nineteenth-century atmosphere reliving the garden to its origins

  • 10:00 am Initial Ceremony in the Palace - Presentation of the day and welcome from the authorities
  • 10:00 - 17:00 On the occasion of the event will take place at the Philatelic Cancellation at the Casa Rustica
  • 10:00 am - 15:00 pm Exhibition of the Hanbury Historical Archives - Curated by the Institute of Ligurian Studies
  • 10:30 – 12:00 Animation of the historical cadres
  • 12:30 – 14:00 Strolling with Thomas Hanbury .....along with the performers of historical cadres
  • 14:30 – 16:00 Animation of the historical cadres
  • 15:30 Presentation of the Booklet of the Association "Friends of GBH" : "Daniel Hanbury, in loving memory" by the author Dr. Daniela Gandolfi - Sala dei Camini - Palazzo Hanbury
  • 16:00 - 18:00 Afternoon tea on the sea at the refreshment point (for a charge)


Throughout the day it will be opened in the halls of the ground floor of the Palace the Exhibition of the Hanbury Historical Archives

On the occasion of of this event it will be applied the reduced fare of 7,50 euro

TIMETABLE: from 9.00am to 12.00am and from 14.00pm to 17.30 pm (last departure from the Hanbury Botanical Gardens)

Ventimiglia stops return route: Piazza della Costituente (Borgo) - Church of Sant'Agostino (Via Cavour)
Races will start at 9.00 every 30 minutes following the timetable indicated above
Last race departing from Ventimiglia at 17.00
Last race departing from the Hanbury Botanical Gardens at 17.30

Visitors are warned that on Sunday there is no alternative public transport service to the proposed free shuttle service.
