Within the ALCOTRA programme, the Hanbury Botanical Gardens Regional Protected Area coordinated and recently concluded the BIODIVAM project aimed at improving knowledge of the diversity of the flora of the south-western Alps and at promoting a progressive and more integrated collaboration between the various institutions involved in the protection of the exceptional biodiversity of a large area between Italy and France.

The Hanbury Botanical Gardens Regional Protected Area participates in the Natura 2000 AdM Progres project, coordinated by the Province of Imperia, within the ALCOTRA programme, and aimed at progressing towards the consolidation of cross-border operational models for managing knowledge on the state of biodiversity and towards management results of natural heritage conservation in the Alpi del Mare.
