HANBURYANA
WHAT. In 2010 marks the 50th anniversary of public management of the Botanic Gardens Hanbury (GBH) and the 10th anniversary of the homonymous Regional Protected Area. These anniversaries will be celebrated with a cultural initiative entitled HANBURYANA, a series of events that aim to promote and enhance the historical, architectural, scenic and scientific Hanbury Botanic Gardens, designed also in their relations with the surrounding territory, the Ligurian Alps, the Riviera dei Fiori, the sea front.
WHERE AND WHEN. The cultural initiative HANBURYANA will take place at Hanbury Botanic Gardens (except a meeting at the Civic Archaeological Museum G. Rossi and one at the Aula Magna of the University of Imperia) over 2010, with anticipation a December 28, 2009 and Appendix in January 2011. The calendar of events in the Annex is available on the official website of GBH: http://www.giardinihanbury.com/. Any change in the schedule, due to reasons of force majeure or adverse weather conditions, will be promptly disclosed on the website and quoted in the press. The tours will be repeated on booking a large number of applicants.
CONTENT:
35 events are provided, divided into 4 series:

The cultural offer includes: 9 special theme tours, 8 meetings (lectures/roundtables), 1 literary contest, 1 photo contest, 7 openings of new permanent exhibition space, 5 concerts, 1 International Conference, 1 exhibition, 1 philatelic event, 1 artistic Atelier. Other cultural initiatives that can be implemented within HANBURYANA are under preparation. The series Fifty years is mainly devoted to the celebration of the anniversary with moments of fête, but also an opportunity for a public balance of the achievements. Secret aspects of Hanbury Gardens is instead a series with special guided tours, meetings and opening of new permanent exhibition space dedicated to anyone who wants to discover and deepen their knowledge of the "less known and sometimes mysterious Hanbury Botanic Gardens. Hanbury Gardens for all includes three different initiatives - a photo contest, inauguration and show of a new photovoltaic greenhouse and new routes of tour - all aimed at the maximum involvement of young, elderly, people with disabilities, stakeholders of the Ventimiglia territory and beyond. The 2010 International Year of Biodiversity will be celebrated with an exhibition and an international conference for presenting the results of two France-Italy cross-border projects for the sustainable management and exploitation of the natural heritage of the Ligurian Alps.
